May 18, 2010 - Schools will allow plenty of time to get students home

When a hurricane warning is issued, there should be ample time for students to get home safely. To notify parents of a school closing, both Broward and Palm Beach County schools use an automated phone system, called Parent Link.

March 22, 2010 - MISD unveils new 'link' for parent-school communications

Midland ISD in Texas recently announced their partnership with ParentLink. Communication initiatives at the district will be even more fueled through the ability to provide parents with a Parent Portal that displays their student grade information, assignments, class schedules, bus transportation information, and more. Of the decision, Woodrow Bailey, the district's Director of Communications, said "It was a no-brainer to go with [ParentLink]."

March 8, 2010 - Huntsville City Schools uses ParentLink to inform parents about a gun on campus

Parents received an alert at 9:30 a.m. from the Parentlink system letting them know the school was on lockdown, and the second alert to parents went out at 10:15 a.m. about the gun and that no one was hurt.

January 7, 2010 - RUSD hosts free H1N1 vaccinations on Saturday

Ramona Unified School District will use ParentLink to help notify students about the upcoming vaccine clinic.

November 16, 2009 - San Jose Unified To Begin Swine Flu Vaccinations and uses their parent notification system to remind parents.

About 200 of the 385 students at the school have returned their consent forms and will be the first ones in line to be vaccinated during the program. As more vaccines become available, parents will be notified at various schools through the district's outcall system, ParentLink, and all information will also be available on the district's Web site, www.sjusd.org.

November 14, 2009 - Wichita Schools begin their Free flu vaccination clinics and use their parent notification system to remind parents.

Eight-year-old Jessica Roberts half-smiled, half-winced as nurse Trish Bell plunged a needle filled with H1N1 vaccine into her arm. After a quick "ow-ow-ow-ow" muttered under her breath, the tears flowed. Each school will have a clinic, she said. Vaccine supply will dictate the schedule. Schools will send home letters and consent forms and will remind families with phone messages using the district's ParentLink system.
